Ex Welsh Prop Laurence Delaney, now player coach at New Dock Stars, played an important role in partially containing the Llandovery forward strength.
Llandovery were ahead 18-0 at the break. Fly half Richard Dix was once again influential and his kicking led to tries by Eifion Lewis and Alun Thomas, one of which was converted by Dix, who also added two penalties.
The home side countered well in the second half to win it by 16 points to 7, through tries by Devlin Leech and Ian Morris and two penalties from Adrian Stewart. Llandovery’s second-half points came from their converted penalty try ten minutes from time.
So it was Llandovery who took the spoils and who go through to the next round of the Cup when they play Mold at Church Bank.
