Match Report

Aberavon 42 - 26 Llandovery

John Kendrick reports:

The stronger home pack made life difficult for the Drovers pack and good possession was limited although they were still in the game at half time with the home side leading by 22 points to 19. That they remained in contention at this time was mainly down to the boot of fly half Gareth Morgan. The Llandeilo product contributed 14 of the points with three penalties and the conversion of a try by Darren Daniel. For the dominant Aberavon side tries were recorded by Marc Breeze, Darryl Thomas and Jamie Davies – the latter player converting 2 of the tries and also kicking a penalty.

The second half saw Aberavon establish a stranglehold on the game and further tries came from Chris Davies and Chris Wells. Jamie Davies was again successful, converting both tries and kicking a further two penalties. For the Drovers a breakaway try for full back Gareth James converted by Gareth Morgan was all they had to offer.
