A last-minute penalty by young Llandovery fly-half Peter Lloyd gave his club an important point in their battle for survival. It was a deserved score after Llandovery's pack had dominated the first half and Bonymaen had hit back strongly.
Despite the promptings of Danny Hawkings at scrum half, the home defence had held out until he found wing Jonathan Young two minutes from time. At 16-13 it all rested on Lloyd, but the youngster placed a fine goal.
Scrum-half Adrian Davies nipped over by a post and Lloyd converted, before Richard Lewis and Lloyd swapped penalties. Bonymaen opened the second half with a Hawkins burst that Lewis carried on for Paul Arnold, the former Wales forward, to score his first try for the club.
A Lewis penalty edged Bonymaen ahead for the first time, but Lloyd restored the lead for the Drovers at 13-11.
Replacement Bonymaen flanker Martin Lewis was sent off. Bonymaen came back to regain the lead through Young's try, but Llandovery's hopes of staying up may rest with Lloyd's fine kick.
